"Borbaad" is an upcoming Bangladeshi action-romance film directed by Mehedi Hasan Hridoy in his feature film debut. The film stars Shakib Khan, Idhika Paul, and Jisshu Sengupta in lead roles. The plot centers on Ariyan Mirza (played by Shakib Khan), a motorcycle enthusiast who deceives his father into funding his dream bike to win over a girl. Throughout his journey, he encounters unexpected challenges and learns valuable life lessons.

The production boasts a significant budget of approximately 15 crore Bangladeshi Taka, aiming to deliver high-octane action sequences choreographed by renowned action director Ravi Varma. Filming primarily took place in Mumbai, India, with 80% of the scenes shot abroad.

  

The film was initially scheduled to begin filming in late August or September 2024. However, production faced delays due to the anti-discrimination student movement in Bangladesh during July and August. Filming eventually commenced on October 20, 2024, at Ellora Studios in Mumbai.

"Borbaad" was released in Bangladesh on March 31, 2025, coinciding with Eid al-Fitr. Upon its release, the film set a new benchmark in advance bookings, surpassing previous records held by Shakib Khan's earlier hit, "Toofan." The film grossed approximately 72.61 lakh Taka in multiplexes over its first two days, with earnings increasing to 44.31 lakh Taka on the second day. By its first week, the film had grossed over 27 crore Taka, surpassing the one-month record previously set by "Priyotoma" in 2023.

Despite facing challenges such as online piracy shortly after its release, "Borbaad" has received positive reviews for its engaging storyline and Shakib Khan's compelling performance. Film director Chayanika Chowdhury praised the film's narrative and Khan's unique portrayal of his character, highlighting the effective romantic chemistry between Khan and Paul.
